Lefkada’s Beaches

Agios Nikitas Beach

On the coastal road, Agios Nikitas is past the village of Tsoukalades. It’s a small sandy / stony beach which is very popular due to its charming village and shops. Access to the beach, shops and tavernas is by walking down the main street. This is mainly pedestian but easy parking can be found on main road, however it can get busy during the peak season months.

Agios Nikitas attacts visitors each year due to the charming narrow stone paved streets that wind through cafes and shops. The main street goes down to the small beach. (You can get a boat round to the larger Milos beach throughout the summer months. (see Milos beach). Excellent restaurants, bars, shops and cafes. Highly recommended for lunches and evening meals

Agiofylli Beach

Agiofili beach is on the south of lefkada, close to Vasiliki. This beach benefits from the white pebbles and the crystal clear sea with a backdrop of white cliffs. The beach is ideal for water sports and snorkelling. The sea gets deep quicker than other beaches on Lefkada.

To access Agiofili we recommend taking a boat or taxi boat as the parking is a distance from the beach. There are sunbeds available on the beach.

Egremni Beach

Egremni beach is on the South West of Lefkada Island. (Past Athani). This beach is one of the longer beaches on the island. Again its another beautiful beach due to the dramatic limestone cliffs dropping down onto the cystal sea. However access to this beach is via many concrete steps down to the beach.

Amenities are in short supply on this beach so pack food and drink to take with you. Free parking can be found on the road or you can pay around 4 EUR in the car park at the entrance of the beach. Sunbeds are available to rent. Highly recommended!

Kathisma Beach

Kathisma is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches on Lefkada Island. Kathisma Beach has acquired a reputation as a “party” beach with plenty of music coming from various bars along the seafront. Restaurants, clubs with pools, jacuzzi and loud music will have you danceing all summer. This is not one to be missed, highly recommended. Why not stop off at Agios Nikitas for lunch then spend the afternoon on Kathisma beach soaking up the atmosphere.

There is plenty of parking and sunbed are avaliable on the beach.

Mikros Gialos Beach

Mikros Gialos is the charming beach of Poros. The Bay is beautiful with green mountains either side giving protection from any wind. (Sometimes known as Rhouda Bay).

Our guests who stay in Villas Erato and Inna enjoy this beach due to its peaceful location. The beach is fairly small, with a lovely little village. Its more shingle than sand (although its easy to find a sandy patch to lay on). Mikros Gialos has easy access, a paved road all the way and ample parking space. It’s good for snorkelling. It’s more of a sleepy village popular with fisherman and locals.

Milos Beach

Milos beach is found between the popular village of Agios Nikitas and kathisma on the coast road (South West of Tskoukalades Village).

This sandy beach is popular but not too busy, there are no restaurants or shops on beach but plenty in Agios Nikitas. Access is via a 15 minute walk up over the peninsular between Agios Nikitas and Milos Beach. Can be done in flip flops, about 250 steps on earth path / concrete steps up and down. There is a small boat transfer between Milos beach and Agios Nikitas beach. Highly recommended.

Nidri Beach

Nidri (Nydri) is one of the more popular locations on Lefkada Island. Nidri Town is well developed with plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops.

Its coast, (mostly a small fishing harbour), is ideal for families with small children as it is only a short walk to amenities or places of interest such as restaurants, tavernas or playgrounds. Nidri is a great location to catch a tourist boat around the islands or charter a yacht for the day. There are plenty of beaches for all water sports. See our Villas Galatia and Galini in Perigiali that overlook this coastal town.

Pefkoulia Beach

Pefkoulia is on the coast road south west of the village of Tsoukalades.

It’s a very long beach, popular with easy access. This beach has limited parking for its size. The green pine trees, white beach and blue sea make a stunning location to spend the day.

There are several tavernas along the beach front.

Porto Katsiki Beach

Porto Katsiki is off the road beyond Athani down the south west corner of the Island. Its one of the most famous beaches on Lefkada island. There are 2 white sand beaches in a very dramatic setting with huge limestone cliffs as a back drop. This is has been nominated the best and most clean beach of the Mediterranean Sea. The beautiful white sand beach is hidden in a cove. Various rock formations divide the beach in smaller parts. Porto Katsiki is one of the busiest beaches on the island during the summer months.

Access to the car park is 4euros. Its 80 concrete steps down to the beach, limited free parking for its size and popularity. There are restaurants and bars adjacent to the car park. Highly recommended.

Vasiliki Beach

Vasiliki is on the south coast. It boasts a vast sandy coast overlooking the endless Ionian Sea.

This is a windsurfing hotspot!!! It’s ideal for sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and various other watersports.

Along the beach is a variety of shops and restaurants. There are also tourist boats where you can visit the nearby islands.
